About Me

My photo
Jennifer Oakley-Delaplante
I am a full time artist - and STILL there is somehow not enough time for me to paint all that I would like. I show my work in two galleries in Northern Michigan: the Main Street Gallery, in Leland, and The Knox Galleries, in Harbor Springs. This year, I also have some work traveling in a national exhibit called America's Parks Encore Exhibit. I paint mainly in Oil, but also use acrylic and watercolor. I paint portraits quite a bit, but a good portion of my work is Land or Sea Scapes. I love to paint the water in all of its situations, and so my focus is on the Lake Michigan shoreline of Leelanau County. Here I find a never ending supply of inspiring scenes to paint. I am so blessed to live in such a lovely place, and one that so many come to on vacation, but then have to leave. So it is a joy to me to capture this beautiful land on canvas. Hopefully, many of those who fall in love with Leelanau will take a piece of it home with them, in one or two of my paintings.
